Rough Draft

I'm posting this reluctantly. I need comments. This will stay up less than a week. Don't cry if you miss it. And no, I won't repost it. There are legal reasons, copyright and such, that I cannot keep this up for long.

Excellent as is. As was mentioned when someone is using original source material we can rely on it as being factual rather than being fanciful. It is certainly great information considering it is a "rough draft" and no doubt once in print along with the photographs it will "fill in" a much needed part of Watch Tower history. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this.

Thank you. I appreciated the added context around some of Barbour's specific claims about the nature of the atonement. It's common knowledge that he disagreed with the substitutionary idea of atonement, but it's helpful to understand more about his specific theories. I also appreciate that, while this is a work of history not apologetics, you point out when certain ideas are contradictory or, for example, when Barbour failed to answer Jones's question and just restated his original assertion in different words.

Is there any way to know how much money, if any, Jones contributed toward the publication and distribution of Food for Thinking Christians?

Andrew, Yes. See SI vol 2 pages 152-154
