Stéphane,
My profoundest thanks for your help.
LateComer,
Please email me more details about your family's early days contact with the truth, especially the adventures accepting Watch Tower faith in the Russell era. My email is BWSchulz2 at yahoo dot com.
My question:
The program I use to search Russell era Watch Tower volumes no longer works. I do not know why. I have not been able to fix that. If you have a program that does that, please let me know.

I admit to not knowing its origin or legitimacy, but I find that https://jwlib.thewt.org/ seems to work well, especially for early Watchtowers.
I need a program that searches all of the watch towers from 1879 to at least 1916 at once. I used "Bible Study Library." It no longer works. I have no clue why, but I need a replacement. I have scans of the originals from first to 1950. I don't need scans. I need a meta search program.
Thank you very much Bruce for your nice message I was deeply touched by.
(As for my search I used a rather laborious but effective method : by means of the Preview program of my Macintosh I launched a word search for “brethren” in the text version of the 1879-1916 Watch Tower pdf file with the effect of marking it as with a highlighter pen and then I had only! to scroll through the pages to locate the desired expressions (since I am retired, I have a lot of spare time and am of the tenacious type…) ; for the following years of the magazine I downloaded it from the archive.org site in OCR text format and retrieved it similarly using the Apple TextEdit program.)
I would also like to thank Gerry Kaspin for his very useful reference.
