William Daniel Stover was Ida Eisenhower's brother, the first born of Simon Peter Stover and Elizabeth Juda Link. He was born 3 October 1849, Mount Sidney, Augusta, Virginia.. He died 19 April 1899, Topeka, Kansas. He married Anna Ammon, born Virginia c. 1851.

The Daily North Topeka Newsletter for 8 April 1899 states:
W.D. Stover who quit preaching for the United Brethren church last August lays very low, three miles north of town. He is a brother-in-law of Mrs. L.D. Fry.
Stover died on the 13th, and several local papers recorded this. The Kansas Farmer and Mail and Breeze for 28 April 1899 gave this obituary:
We are sorry to inform the many friends of Rev. W.D. Stover of his death on April 13, 1899, of consumption. The funeral was preached by Rev. Meredith, an old friend and brother minister of the U.B. church, corner Quincy and Twelfth streets, Topeka, Saturday, April 15.
The newspapers said he died on the 13th, but his grave marker says the 19th.
