A colored title in those colors with a suitable photograph below looks quite attractive.
I would just query the title as it stands? I appreciate this is going to be volume one, so that would need to go somewhere on the cover. Or a different title? Or a subtitle somewhere? I only raise the question because your title is all about readers of Zion's Watch Tower and your first volume is going to end before ever there even was a Zion's Watch Tower.
Actually Zion's Watch Tower come to life in the last chapter. Volume I goes on the spine.

Since our primary audience is an academic one, we've opted for a non-controversial title. I have all sorts of snippy titles bouncing around in my head. The'd never do for this book.
Excellent photo, original, I don't know how many people know this picture. Children, people, and chuch, remember me the beginning of a separate identity, so I think the photo is well attuned with the title of the book.
I think the name of Russell should appear. After all, he is the key character.
I wonder if the dates 1870-1877 may be misleading since the WT was not published until 1879.

Very well done, and I appreciate your efforts on our behalf. This is not suitable for our book. I'm sorry we can't use it.
"A Separate Identify" seems a very good title.
Sorry I'm weighing in so late on this - just learned about your research a week ago.
I believe the actual spelling of the town's name is "Miamisburg" - I've been unable to find any authoritative reference with a final "h".
Also, I was told - by a person who had a copy of the original - that the photo was taken right around or shortly before 1909. Several living descendants of some of the people in the photo (although) I am unable to identify any individual) are Witnesses.
