It was good to see the picture of Pittsburgh High School taken from Fleming's book, where Maria was in the group for 1864-65. Of particular interest was the neighboring post which was a cutting from the Pittsburgh Daily Gazette and Advertiser for July 5, 1870, which has Maria appointed as a teacher to the First Ward School. This is earlier than the cuttings used for the recent article on Maria's teaching career. It shows the value of EVERYONE checking their sources, because my newspaper archive (linked to the Ancestry site) did not have this paper. Different newspaper archives access different material at times. So if you have a newspaper archive subscription (other than Ancestry-linked) please do check - there may still be more to find on Maria there.
