WHAT PYRAMID?
The pyramid was removed very carefully on September 1. These photographs are from September 2. On top of the CTR grave stone is a small piece of granite salvaged from the pyramid site.
For the background as to what led up to this, see the post from August 22.

I find the desecration of any memorial site totally distasteful. This one especially so as it relates to my spiritual heritage. However, given that the pyramid had become unsafe and a potential danger to visitors, I can totally understand why it sadly became necessary to remove it. May those that deliberately contributed to damaging the site over the decades, ultimately making its removal necessary, hold their heads in shame.
I also agree with Gerry. So sad to see it necessary to remove it completely.
Did WTBTS still own the gravesite? As in, do you know who took on the responsibility of removing the pyramid? I wonder where the granite slabs went...
The gravesite is still owned by WTBTS who I assume would have been liable if anyone was hurt or killed by an unsafe monument. It would be nice to think that maybe the panels might become part of their historical exhibition, but time will tell.
