This is very interesting to see. I began a collection of Japanese older literature around 2010, no easy task. From the Rutherford era I now have Harp of God, Deliverance, Creation, Life, Light 1 & 2, Preservation, Government, some bound golden ages, some booklets from the 1930s, but this was horribly difficult as I’ve found out from my Japanese contacts that the Japanese publishers were told to dispose of all older literature (presumably at the time anything before 1980 or so). All this time I’ve looked, without success, for a Divine Plan of the Ages in Japanese (I also discovered this was the only edition of the Studies ever made available in Japan - I hope I’m wrong here but I believe not). I’ve only ever seen one photo of the Japanese Vol 1 from the watchtower archives museum display in NY. I understand Chinese is not Japanese but if it’s nearly as rare as the Japanese edition, this picture of one is the first I’ve ever heard of or seen of another Asian language version. And it’s apparently in pristine condition. I would love to know where it is and a little more on how it was discovered if possible?
It is now on its way to the Walkill Museum New York. It was originally found in a house in Launceston Tasmania in a sealed off room lying on a table of a room full of Chinese antique furniture. The original Chinese family who owned it were surnamed 'Claw' as I was told by the dealer from whom I received it. They owned a fruit and vegetable shop in Brisbane Street Launceston until around 1920 and sold that to the Chungong family.
I owned the book from about 1984/1985 until this year when I first showed a scan of it to Mr Bruce Schulz who was kind enough to put myself in touch with the Society. And yes it is immaculate.
