We attended at the Wembley Empire Pool (now Wembley Arena) in Greater London. The history book "Jehovah's Witnesses in the Divine Purpose" was released here. Also the announcement was made that sisters in the congregation could now join the Theocratic Ministry School.
Alas it was all before my time. But, as one brother recently commented, I find it amusing that “our sisters started in the ministry school 16 years behind the brothers, but by 2022 are at least 20 years ahead” in terms of their abilities!
A sister in our congregation began giving talks in the Theocratic Ministry School in 1943, and gave several before the congregation was informed that the School was just for brothers. It wasn't because she did a poor job. In fact, the School Overseer at the time, who is still alive, says her talks were usually some of the best in the School.
