I recently played this to an elderly couple were at the 1950 convention, It brought back some very happy memories from just after they were married. Thank you for posting this.
Sadly, we were not able to attend the 1950 or 1958 conventions. But the 1953 Convention is a very vivid memory for me. I met Covington, Franz, Macmillan there. A friend and long-time witness introduced me.
Some years later, at Nürnberg, we sang it. I remember a pioneer girl singing the refrain in English when she went for a walk with me. As she didn´t speak English, she sang what she thought she had heard, and we laughed a lot.
