I found A H Willis in newspapers for July 20, August 3 and 10, all 1899, doing the same sort of thing in Brewton, Alabama. I couldn't find him other than that, and tried 1998 and 1900. The other papers basically repeated the details your clipping gives, only one calls him "Brother" and another "Revd." There is a pilgrim Brother Willis mentioned a couple of times in ZWT but no biographical or geographical details. I ran the name laboriously through BSL5 and no results there either. Hope someone else can be more successful.
